Craniosacral bodywork

Craniosacral therapy on the skull (cranium)

"The treatment plan lies inherent in the tissue" - "At the heart of every dysfunction lies health, lies healing." Craniosacral therapy is a body-oriented, manual therapy that developed in the USA from osteopathy in the first half of the 20th century. It is based on working with the craniosacral rhythm, which manifests as the subtle pulsation of the cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid nourishes, moves, and protects our nervous system – from the skull (cranium) to the sacrum. Because the craniosacral rhythm spreads throughout the body via the connective tissue, it can be felt everywhere. As a craniosacral practitioner, I sense the quality of these rhythmic movements and can support and harmonize them. As a result, tension, pain, and restricted movement are released; the immune system is strengthened, and vital functions stabilize.

Craniosacral practitioners work holistically and with the utmost care – on a physical, emotional, and psychological level. We focus on our innate health and the self-healing powers we possess. Respectful verbal guidance during the manual treatment supports self-awareness and can offer space and support for emotional processes. A craniosacral session typically lasts about an hour, and may be shorter for children and infants. During the session, you lie comfortably clothed on a treatment table. However, you can also sit, stand, or move around. Through targeted, mindful touch, a kind of dialogue develops between my hands, you, and your body – often resulting in longer moments of stillness. You can, of course, share your experiences with me at any time. Respectful verbal guidance during the craniosacral session supports your self-awareness and can offer space and support for inner, emotional processes.

"My aim as an instructor is not only to impart knowledge and skills comprehensively, precisely, thoroughly, and vividly, but above all to create a space in which learners experience the scope and depth of CranioSacral Healing for themselves, because this enables them to pass on craniosacral healing work from within, from a place of cultivated presence." My Cranio teacher, Ramraj Ulrich Löwe, has achieved this with his comprehensive CranioSacral Healing® training with me. I completed Level IV basic training, as well as Visceral Healing I and II, "Heart of Healing," at the CranioSacral Healing School with him. I am delighted that I will be supporting Ramraj as an assistant in his training from 2022 onwards. CranioSacral Healing® combines sophisticated, anatomically and scientifically grounded bodywork, attuned energy work, and verbal guidance of inner processes, thus enabling comprehensive healing processes on all levels. Our task in Craniosacral Therapy is to bring clients into contact with themselves and their inner resources so that they can heal themselves from within. This applies to both working with language and to silent, body-oriented work. We are not the great achievers who accomplish great things, but rather like awestruck students, servants, or assistants to the clients' inner healing powers. Our role is most comparable to that of a catalyst in chemistry: the healing happens from within the clients themselves. Joachim Lichtenberg, a certified psychologist and alternative practitioner, is another invaluable teacher whose work I greatly admire. So far, I have been able to complete Birth Experience 1 and 2, as well as Cranial Nerve 1, with him (the waiting lists are long ;-)). With Birgit Hilpert, director of the CranioSchool Vöckelsbach, as my supervisor throughout my training and still today, I have been given another wonderful mentor to help me learn Craniosacral Therapy in depth.
